Last weekend’s weather on Sunday turned spectacular so we trekked to the area just south of Salzburg to ski. As Reed mentioned previously, they don’t have large resorts here, but a vast array of areas where you can buy your lift ticket and head out. One of these areas advertised KinderCare so we thought we would give it a try. Let’s just stay positive here and say that the day was absolutely beautiful, Eliot had a grand time riding the gondola and playing for 2 hrs at the childcare. Things didn’t go as planned, that morning, though…let’s review:
1. We started by making our notorious wrong turn off the autobahn;
2. Turns out we DID need to call ahead to reserve Eliot a spot, they agreed to take him at 1 pm;
3. We really should have paid the extra cash for the airline to bring our own equipment, as we paid an arm/leg to rent for the afternoon;
4. Lift tix in hand, we took the gondola half-way up the mountain to drop Eliot off…only to find out they are only open til 3:30.
So, Reed got to ski 2 hrs and Kim 3 hr…for a bit of a fortune..but gosh, it was a beautiful day!
Here is a vid of the views and Eliot’s Gondola experience…which is a little long if you are not a blood-relative, surrogate family, or simply are suckers for cute little 2 yr old’s knack for stating the obvious (“that one is going down!”)…
Life is good, we are short one car payment all in one day, but no matter!
Kidding aside, Life IS good and we feel blessed.
